About Pokhara

Pokhara is one of the most unique sub-tropical valley in the Himalaya and probably in the world, where one can marvel the beauty of the Himalayan landscape  and reflection of the Annapurna massif including the towering majestic peak of Mt. Machapuchere on its beautiful lakes.. Pokhara is situated in the mid western Nepal. It is linked by the main highway of 200 km driving distance from Kathmandu, and by air approximately 20 to 30 minutes flight with a sweeping panoramic views of the mid east to western Himalayan ranges.

Mother Nature has certainly blessed this fertile valley with outstanding scenery of the landscapes, snow capped mountains, moderate tropical climate, and beautiful pristine lakes of Begnas, Rupa and Phewa.

The most stunning of Pokhara’s sights is the magnificent panorama of the Annapurna range which forms its backdrop. Annapurna massif includes Annapurna I to IV and Annapurna South. Among these high peaks it is the towering majestic Mt. Machapuchere (Fish Tail) which dominates all others in this range. Pokhara with its natural beauty is also a starting point of Nepal’s most popular adventure destinations. Most of the trekking, mountaineering expeditions begins from this remarkable place and it’s a also an ideal spot for all types of holiday makers.

About Bhaktapur

Locally known by Khwopa—is world renowned for its elegant art, fabulous culture and indigenous lifestyle. For its majestic monuments, colorful festivals and the native Newars best known for their long history of craftsmanship, the ancient city is also variously known as the “City of Culture“, the “Living Heritage” and “Nepal’s Cultural Gem“. Given such unequaled opulence in ancient art and culture, Bhaktapur is more like an open museum, and the ambiance here is such that it instantly transports visitors back by centuries the moment they step into its territory.

Bhaktapur has its gem in the Durbar Square—a World Heritage site listed by the UNESCO. Strewn with unique palaces, temples and monasteries best admired for their exquisite artworks in wood, metal and stone, the palatial enclave has bewitched pilgrims and travelers for centuries. Yet, they are not all though. Adding to the mesmerizing environs is the holy Himalaya that makes the backdrop of the city. Stretching all along the township, the panoramic Himalaya levitates in the skyline as if to keep vigilance on the city’s enviable beauty and splendor.

About Chitwan National Park

One of the oldest and most popular National Parks in Nepal, is situated within the inner subtropical Terai lowlands of Southern-Central Nepal. The park was designated as a World Heritage Site in 1984.

The Park covers a pristine area with a unique eco-system of significant value to the world. It contains the Churia hills, ox-bow lakes and flood plains of the rivers Rapti, Reu and Narayani.

Approximately 70 % of the park vegetation is covered by Sal forests. The remaining vegetation types include 20 % of grassland, 7 % of riverine forest and 3% of sal with chirpine. The latter are found in the Churia (Siwalik) range. Which are the low hills after the Terai flatlands?  The riverine forests mainly consist  of khair, sisso and simal or kapok (the silk cotton tree).

The grasslands are a diverse and complex community with over 50 species. The Saccharun species, popularly known as elephant grass, can reach 8m in height. The shorter grasses such as Imperata are used by the locals for thatch roofs.

There are more than 43 species of mammals in the park. The Park is famous for the endangered and elusive “Royal Bengal Tiger”. The park is home to the one horned Indian Rhinoceros, fresh water ghariel crocodile along with many other common species such as gaur (Asian bison) wild elephants, four horned antelopes, striped hyenas, pangolins, Gangetic dolphins, monitor lizards and pythons.

Other animals found in the park include sambars, chitals (spotted deer) barking deer,  sloth bear, palm civets, languor’s and rhesus monkeys.

The park is also famous for over 450 species of birds. Among the endangered birds are the Bengal florican, the Giant Hornbill, the Lesser Florican, the  Black Stork and   White Stork. Common birds seen in the park including Peafowl, Red Jungle fowl, and different Species of Egrets, Herons, Kingfishers, Flycatchers and Woodpeckers. The best time for bird watching is around March and December.

More than 45 species of amphibians and reptiles have been recorded in the park,  some of which are the Marsh mugger Crocodile, cobras Green Pit Viper and various  species of frogs and tortoises. The Royal Chitwan National Park is also an educational field for botanists and zoologists alike.

The park is actively engaged in scientific studies and research concerning several species of wild fauna and flora. The Royal Chitwan National Park has many lodges and tented camps inside and  outside as well. The park can be reached via a 190 km road, a drive of approximately 5-6 hours and by air about a 20 minute flight to Megauli or to Bharatpur including a short ride by elephant or by a four wheel drive. It may also be reached by the ultimate way with a surge of adrenaline and scenic floats Rafting on the Trisuli River.

Arrive Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.

On arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport you will be received by our staff and escort you to the Hotel, where our staff will give you a brief orientation of the Hotel, Kathmandu and about the program and other related information that you might require while in Nepal, after refreshment and probably lunch depending upon the time of arrival. A tour at the suburb of Kathmandu city to Swayambhunath also popularly known as ‘Monkey Temple’ this is one of the world’s most glorious Buddhist Chaityas. It is said to be 2,000-years-old. Painted on the four-sides of the spire bases are the all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. It is 3-kms west of Kathmandu City and is situated on a hillock about 77m. Above the level of the Kathmandu valley, it is included on the World Heritage.

From here one can have a view of whole of Kathmandu city and its valley in the backdrop of distance snow capped mountain range on a clear day.

After the sight seeing tour return back to the Hotel.

A day in Kathmandu Tour of Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath, Patan Durbar Square and Tibetan Refugee Camp.

Today, after breakfast our interesting tour continues with a drive towards Pashupatinath Temple one of the holiest of all holy Hindu Temple. Situated 5-kms east of Kathmandu, the temple of Lord Shiva-Pashupatinath with two tiered golden roof and silver doors is famous for its superb architecture. Visitors can clearly seen the temple and the activities performed in the temple premises from the eastern bank of the Bagmati River.

Apart from Hindu’s no one are allowed to enter the main Temple premises, however we take a short walk by the bank of Bagmati River where one can observe the pilgrims and Hindu priests activities. This River is also a cremation site of the Hindu’s.

From here a short drive leads to the Bouddhanath north east from Pashupatinath area. 

The Stupa of Bouddhanath lays 8-kms east of Kathmandu. This colossal and ancient stupa is one of the biggest in the world. This area is also known as ‘Little Tibet’ after a visit here observing the Tibetan Buddhist way of life, our tour continues towards Patan area, which is situated on the south of Kathmandu, and it is separated by a bridge over the River Bagmati. Patan is also known as Lalitpur meaning city of Arts. As you enter the old Palace courtyard (Durbar) the tall terracotta house looks fascinating with intricate window carvings, and the Stone Temple of Krishna with the pillar of Garuda the vehicle of Lord Vishnu and as well of Lord Krishna. After the historic visit a short drive leads towards the end of Patan area at Tibetan Refugee camp where one can observe the happy-cheerful workers weaving carpets. This place was established in the early 1970’s after the Chinese invasion in Tibet where a great number of Tibetan migrated here, and the Nepal Government established this place as a permanent camp or settlement for the Tibetan Refugees, after a wonderful day with lunch at Patan area, drive back to the Hotel.

Drive to Rafting Put in Point for 3-4 hrs scenic float.

Early morning after breakfast our staff will pick you up from the Hotel, on the given departure time. An interesting two to three hours drive from Kathmandu will reach you at the Rafting put in point at Trisuli River. On arrival meet our Rafting crew, lunch will be served by our rafting crew depending upon the time if it’s too early, a short float downstream for lunch. On reaching the start of the rafting, our rafting guide and captain will give you a briefing on safety procedure and Rafting instruction. After getting ready for the splash, float down for approx. 18-20 km down towards Kuringhat or near about from here for the overnight stop at River side Resorts.

Drive to Chitwan National Park. Approx: 187 k.m. 5-6 hrs journey.

From Kathmandu morning drive of nearly five hours on the main south-west central highway. The scenic drive leads past Kathmandu Valley and then following the River Trisuli most of the way towards south on reaching at Chitwan meet the staff from the Lodge and transfer by four wheel drive or by an elephant to the Jungle Lodge through the park entrance. On arrival meet and welcome by the senior naturalist or the manger for the welcome brief and Information. Nepal’s tropical, dense jungles are in the low land of Terai, which runs from east to west on this fertile country. These exotic jungles, provides home and habitat for the most endangered species of wild life, the Royal Bengal Tiger, One horned Rhinoceros, the Gangetic Ghariel and fresh water Dolphins. In one of these jungles, you will find one of the most exciting safari destinations in the world, Safari on the back of an elephants or in the four wheel drive to view the diverse wild life and many different species of exotic birds. Other thrills are canoe rides, jungle walk, and bird watch excursion in the comfort of the cosy lodge, built out of local material which blends it well with the natural surrounding, with all the homely basic facilities.

At Chitwan. Jungle Safari & Nature Tours:

Jungle program begins early in the morning before breakfast with a Jungle walk-Bird watch or elephant safari for few hours return to the Lodge for breakfast and then with an hour break, another jungle tour till lunch time at 1 p.m. Afternoon activities starts by 3 p.m. for elephant safari or Jungle walk as per the Lodge set program.

Drive to Pokhara. Driving distance approx: 170 k.m. 4-5 hrs.

After an early Jungle activity, after breakfast drive to the main road at the Park exit point, for the wonderful scenic drive to Pokhara, another tourist exotic destination with 

Fabulous scenery of the surrounding landscapes, lakes and the close view of Annapurna-Manaslu range of mountains including the majestic towering Mt.Machhapuchare ‘The Fish Tail’ the drive last for about 5 hours on the western highway, on reaching at Pokhara, the Hotel is situated near the beautiful Phewa lake. After a refreshment afternoon walk by the lake side where there are many shops and delightful restaurants.

Sight Seeing at Pokhara.

After breakfast a short drive lead towards the end of Pokhara for the grand view of Davis Fall, depending upon the season. In dry season the water level might be quite low but in the late summer and in the midst of monsoon, the view of torrential waterfall here is truly wonderful. From here drive leads to the hub of Pokhara, the local bazaar close from here view the Seti River Gorge, which is a narrow, deep gorge down below from the bridge.

From here a short drive brings you at Bindabasani Temple area, where the local comes here to pay homage to Hindu God and Goddess, this place also offers grand view of the Annapurna Himalayan range. From here another short visit to the Tibetan Refugee camp, which is almost the same set up like in Patan area with carpet and other handicraft industry.

Drive to Kathmandu and continue to Nagarkot 5-6 hrs. 230 k.m.

After a great time at Pokhara with magnificent view of the Annapurna-Manaslu-Dhaulagiri and the striking Mt. Machapuchere, drive continues for nearly 5 hrs, on reaching Kathmandu, drive continues for another hour towards the Kathmandu Valley rim towards east on reaching near Bhaktapur, the scenic good drive climbs on the zig-zag road all the way to Nagarkot at 2,100m altitude, a grand spot with great view of the central Langtang-Jugal mountain range including Annapurna in the far west and Mt.Everest towards far east. Nagarkot is also famous for the sunrise and sunset over the snow capped mountain range. Nagarkot is a small mid hill village with many good lodges around.

Drive to Changu Narayan Temple and continue to Bhaktapur. 6-7 k.m.

After a great view of the sunrise and of the snow capped mountain range, drive leads down hill towards Bhaktapur, with an hour visit at Changu Narayan Temple on route. Changu Narayan. This impressive double roofed temple is said to be the most ancient Vishnu temple in the Kathmandu Valley. The original temple was built around the 4th century. The present pagoda-style temple was rebuilt in 1702 after it was destroyed by fire. It is located in a beautiful peaceful location, 4km north of Bhaktapur, on a hill top in the east side of the Valley. From the temple there are good views of the valley in three directions. The original 5th century stone deity of Lord Vishnu is said to be in the sanctum, but only the priest can see the deity.

After a visit in this sleepy rural village with an interesting visit to the Temple of Changu Narayan, drive leads to Bhaktapur another great old kingdom of the valley.

Morning drive to the airport for scenic sweeping mountain flight.

As per the flight time for the mountain flight, 40 minutes drives leads to the domestic air terminal of Tribhuvan Airport, after proceeding towards the plane with breathe taking views of the chain of snow capped mountain range from Langtang-Jugal-Mt.Everest to Mt.Makalu. After a magnificent flight for an hour, drive back to Bhaktapur for lunch and afternoon tour of the Durbar Squares.
